COVID-19: Insurance coverage for doctors, security persons and journalists

12 April Doti : The State government has initiated life insurance for medical personnel, security persons and media persons working for prevention and control of Corona Virus in the State. A meeting of the State government has decided to provide an insurance coverage of Rs. 1.5 million for them, according to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

Likewise, the State government decided to allocate a budget of Rs. 160 million to distribute relief supplies to the very poor, helpless and daily wagers in the state. The distribution will be done through the local level unit, according to the Chief Minister’s personal secretary Shiva Singh Oli. The relief will be worth Rs. 3,000 per family.

The health staffers in all the nine government hospitals in the State will receive incentive allowance. Furthermore, 20 ventilators will be procured to be installed in all the district hospitals of the State. A decision has also been taken to allocate Rs. 500,000 each to the district administration offices and Rs. 1.5 million to the Nepali Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police units in the state, Oli said.
