COVID-19 update: 2,526 new cases of coronavirus, 16 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu : A total of 2,526 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in the last 24 hours in the country. Similarly, 16 persons lost lives to the contagion in the same period.

The Ministry of Health and Population informed in its regular bulletin that 11,073 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours to confirm the infections. Similarly, in the same period, 8,425 persons got rid of coronavirus infection in the latest update.

The number of people getting rid of coronavirus has reached 895,868. The recovery rate stands at 92.9 percent. The infection rate at present is 18.3 percent.

Meanwhile, the Ministry shared that more than half million people received vaccination against COVID-19 in the 24 hours alone.

Currently, active cases of coronavirus are 56,457 in the country. The number of fatalities has so far reached 11,794. The fatality rate is 1.3 percent.

Moreover, there are 51 infected persons receiving treatment with ventilator support while 243 at ICU in different health facilities across the country.

The districts having more than 500 active cases of coronavirus are Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Dhanusha, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchowk, Kaski, Nawalparasi Purba, Banke, Rupandehi and Kailali. Similarly, the districts having more than 200 active cases of coronavirus are Siraha, Saptari, Parsa, Bara, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Dhading, Sindhuli, Nuwakot, Gorkha, Syangja, Baglung, Tanahu, Gulmi, Palpa, Bardiya, Dang, Surkhet and Kanchanpur.
