Kathmandu

The Airline Operators’ Association of Nepal, an umbrella organization of airlines operators, has urged the government to permit non-schedule flight, considering the impact of natural disaster and COVID-19 pandemic.

The Association Chair Captain Rameshwar Thapa issued a press statement on Friday and demanded the permission for the non-schedule flights also for the relief and rescue to the disaster hit people. They can be provided the permit by following the standard fare fixed by the government to the affected people during the tough time.

He further argued that the long-route vehicles were not operated at present. So aircrafts can reach the relief on time to the affected areas.

Domestic airlines operating companies have made all preparations to resume the flights in line with the directives of Ministry of Health and Population and Nepal Civil Aviation Authority. The government has however decided to resume domestic and international flights from August 17.
