Home Ministry urges all to obey lockdown

11 June Kathmandu : The Home Ministry has said it serious attention has been drawn to increasing violation of the lockdown.  The Ministry has urged one and all not to execute or cause to execute activities or participate in any activity under any pretext in violation of lockdown order.

People are found to have involved in protests, peaceful rally and submitting memorandum and asked people through various means including social media defying lockdown, according to a statement released by the ministry’s spokesperson Kedar Nath Sharma.

According to the Infectious Disease Act, 2020 (Clause 3), Chief District Officer of the respective district can slap Rs 100 to Rs 600 in fine and hand out one to six months imprisonment to those defying lockdown.

In line with the act (Clause 2), the Cabinet meeting continues lockdown in order to save life of people from COVID-19, according to the statement. The Ministry has also urged people not to go outside unnecessarily and gather in group but maintain physical and social distancing and use facemasks and sanitizers.
