Kathmandu Valley 172 of positive for coronavirus test

Kathmandu : Coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 641 more individuals including 172 from Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the new cases were recorded in course of carrying out PCR tests of 12,247 people from different labs across the country. With this, the number of total active infected cases has reached 9,221 in the country.

In a regular press organized by the Ministry today, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr Jageshwor Gautam shared that a total of 517,907 people underwent the PCR tests so far. Gautam said that a total of 126 active COVID-19 cases in Kathmandu, 38 in Lalitpur and eight in Bhaktapur were recorded in the last 24 hours.

One hundred thirty-four people returned home after recovery. With this, number of people getting discharged after recovery reached 17,335. According to the Ministry, two more persons died of coronavirus in the past 24 hours. A person of Parsa and a woman of Morang districts died due to the virus, added Dr Gautam.

There are 497 people in home isolation and 8,724 are in isolation facilities across the country. Six COVID-19 infected people of Bagmati State are in ventilators.
