My First Task Will Be to Establish a Political Cult of Honesty – Dr. Shekhar

The Nepali Congress now seems to be busy with the internal affairs of its own 14th General Assembly. We are expediting the work of sending active membership forms from different districts to the center, updating them and renewing the active membership as soon as possible by creating a proper mechanism in the remaining districts. Now, the groundwork is being laid for the conclusion of the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress in August 2078 BS.

New leadership is also expected to come from the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress, which has become a matter of interest and concern of all Nepali Congress leaders and cadres. Incumbent party president Sher Bahadur Deuba, Dr. Shekhar Koirala, Dr. Shashank Koirala, Prakash Man Singh, Bimalendra Nidhi, Arjun Narasimha KC, Ram Chandra Poudel and Krishna Prasad Sitaula have been seen in the race for the chairmanship. The future will tell how many will be elected and how many will be left in the race for the election, but at present Sher Bahadur Deuba and Dr. Shekhar Koirala is the candidate at the top of the discussion.

The Koirala family, which had supported Ram Chandra Poudel in the party’s 13th general convention, is not in favor of supporting senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel this time as it is in the race to become the party’s president in the 14th general convention. Due to the desire of Dr. Shekhar Koirala to run the country and the activists for the past years, this times the president. The daring foundations of becoming Dr. Shekhar Koirala are being erected. He said that the people could not find an alternative to the Nepali Congress as they could not take the country on the path of rapid development.

Dr. Shekhar said Shekhar Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala has been emphasizing on the need to move forward by self-criticizing why we could not participate deeply in the problems of the people to form the Nepali Congress. The Nepali Congress should not be made as the opposition says, but as Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala and Ganesh Mani said. Krishna Prasad Bhattarai and Girija Babu should walk on the same path. By showing such indomitable courage as Sushil Koirala, the current Nepali Congress should be made the beloved and trustworthy and worthy Nepali Congress of the people.

Dr. Shekhar Koirala is reaching the courtyard of people’s houses. The organization cannot be strengthened unless there is a two-way communication between the leaders and the cadres. It is in line with the sentiments and desires of the cadres to move the party forward. Dr. Shekhar said that Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala, who is now in the political line, the organization cannot be strengthened by sitting in Kathmandu and giving speeches without being the leader of the cadres. Dr. Shekhar Koirala is standing. That is why the way is open for him to become the chairperson of the upcoming 14th General Assembly.

Continuing to get the support of district runners and activists, Dr. Shekhar Koirala seems to be growing in support of local Congress leaders and cadres. Koirala, who has always stood by the plight of Nepali citizens, has spoken out against the commercialization of education and health in Nepal, as evidenced by his statements and statements made at various events. Dr. Shekhar Koirala says – What is my concern? That said, my concern is with Nepal’s poverty and backwardness. My concern is how to make education, which is becoming more expensive and commercialized, completely free for Nepali citizens.

My concern is how to create an environment where poor people can get health care freely and confidently. That is. My concern is how to create an environment where farmers’ produce can get market. And my concern is how to create a credible environment where criminals are punished and justice is done face to face. That is. Dr. Shekhar says, “In the latter part of my life, I have no greed or desire to accumulate any personal wealth and how to build a luxurious palace in the heart of the capital.” Stating that he has learned the political culture of honesty from Kisunji’s sacrifice and Ganesh Manji’s dedication, he said that his only ultimate goal is to see a happy smile on the face of the Nepali people by doing selfless politics like Shushil Da. Saying that becoming the president does not mean that radical change can be done. Shekhar says that he is confident that corruption in the country can be reduced by half if a political culture of honesty is established.

He says that my first duty will be to maintain honesty at the leadership level. If the political leadership presents itself with sincerity, then the employees of the permanent government of the country will also be honest. It is also a wrong political practice to discredit the employees by leading them towards corruption. Shekhar Koirala says that even the employees are not guests from any overseas country who have come to Nepal to work for two or four years, they are citizens of our country.

If the leadership level only gives those rewards and encouragement that will give them high self-esteem, then the employees will fully support the government. As soon as the employees start the process of completing the work of the people with sincerity and without any hassle, a good relationship is established between the people and the employees. For this, honest political leadership is needed first.
