NC leader Poudel for environment conducive to general convention

Kathmandu : Office-bearers and central members of Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel’s camp have demanded creation of environment conducive to convene the 14th general convention in a fair and impartial way.

Today, a letter addressed to NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba signed by more than two dozen party office bearers including Poudel, General Secretary Dr Shashank Koirala and Treasurer Sita Devi Yadav has been registered with the party central office.

Stating that party President’s main responsibility is to obey and protect party’s statute, the letter said that organising party’s convention within the stipulated timeframe falls on the leadership. Activities and decisions against party’s statute should be scraped, according to the letter.

The Poudel’s group has drawn the attention towards the act of issuing a circular to distributing party’s positions against party’s statute and taking decisions rampantly in distributing active membership.
