Former Minister Nepali Dies At 76
Former minister Ganesh Tiwari Nepali has passed away on Friday evening. He was 76. Nepali, who was suffering from paralysis and cancer, died at his home in Jaleshwor municipality-2 in the district, said Nepali’s son Bajrang. Nepali, who won the Constitution Assembly election in 2064 BS from Mahottari constituency 3 under the first-past-the-post system, led the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the government led by Nepal Communist Party leader Madhav Kumar Nepal.
He got the ticket from the then Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party (TMLP). Born in 1999 BS, Nepali entered the Nepali politics from 2027 BS. He became Nepali Congress Mahottari district president in 2044 BS and went on to contribute to the historic people’s movements in 2046 BS. He later defected the NC in 2052 BS and joined the then CPN-UML and then TMLP in 2064 BS. Lately he was affiliated with Rastriya Janata Party Nepal. rss
