Alam Sent To Jail

15 Nov., Rautahat : Suspended lawmaker Aftab Alam has been sent to jail on Friday. A single bench of district court justice Deepak Dhakal handed down the decision to send him to jail for further investigation.

Police had arrested former Minister Alam last month on charge of his involvement in committing mass murder in Rautahat district in April 2008. Alam, also a Nepali Congress lawmaker, was accused of killing dozens of people in a massive blast in Rautahat 12 years ago.

A total of 28 advocates had registered to plead on behalf of Alam while 12 lawyers pleaded on behalf of the petitioner- the government side. The district attorney, Rautahat, had filed a case of mass murder against Alam. rss
