Free Media For Strengthened Democracy : Former President Yadav

11 Jan., Kathmandu : Former President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has said democracy would be strengthened in the presence of free media. Talking to media persons briefly here today, the former President said,” where democracy is stronger, media is free there.” Rule of law, good governance, transparent ruling system and economic discipline would provide a further boost to democracy, making its base consolidated, he added.

According to him, the government and the Federal Parliament own the responsibility to take the nation ahead on the basis of co-existence of the people, communal unity and harmony. Stating that development was possible only through cooperation and coordination among the three-tier government, he presented an idea of seeking a solution to nation’s issue through the Federal Parliament. He stressed on the giving feel of full democracy and republic to the people by maintaining unity amidst geographical and communal diversities.
