Swab of woman losing life in Bharatpur Hospital being sent for laboratory test

3 April Chitwan : A sample swab of a woman who died in the wee hours today at Bharatpur Hospital is to be tested to find out whether she had contracted the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The dead body has been kept separately with the application of safety measures and her swab sample will be sending to the Teku-based National Public Health Laboratory for the test.
According to Hospital chair Dr Bhojraj Adhikari, 26-year-old Usha Kumari Rai of Sindhuli was brought to the hospital on Thursday late midnight and she breathed her last in course of treatment after two hours.
A medical team involved in her treatment will be quarantined. The Hospital has placed high alert measures specifically in the treatment of fever patients in view of the increased health risk posed by the coronavirus pandemic. The woman was referred to the Bharatpur Hospital by the Hetauda Hospital.
Though the Hospital records 50-55 deaths due to several health issues each month, the death of Rai sparked a alert as she had fever, one of the major symptoms of coronavirus.
