Child killed in accidental gunfire, two youths go missing in river

25 May Kathmandu : An eight-year-old boy died in an accidental firing of a loaded country-made gun. The accident took place in Kipche of Jugal rural municipality-2 in Sindhupalchok district on Sunday. The deceased is Ayush Syangbo Tamang of the same locality, police said.

A 12-year-old boy had brought the loaded gun at his house when Tamang and he had been playing at the house courtyard and the gun burst all of a sudden, killing Tamang instantaneously.

Meanwhile, two youths who had gone for swimming and fishing in the Tamakoshi river have gone missing at Chaiteghat of Dolakha district on Sunday. They are 36-year-old Deepak Bhujel of Pawati, Melung rural municipality-1 and 19-year-old Nawaraj Poudel of Thulakhet, Kalinchok rural municipality-7, the District Police Office Dolakha said.

According to police, Bhujel was killing fish in the river and Poudel was swimming when they were swept away by the river and went missing. A search is underway for the two missing youths.
