1,272 new COVID-19 cases reported today, 7 causalities recorded

23 Sept, Kathmandu : A total of 1,272 new COVID-19 cases and 7 deaths from the flu-like infection have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, with the new cases, the caseload of the deadly infection across the nation has totaled in 67,804. Among them the number of the active infected ones stand at 17, 414.

Altogether 436 COVID-19 infected persons have lost their lives since the first case was reported in the country on January 23 this year. Ministry’s spokesperson Dr Jageshwor Gautam in a routine press conference today shared that 1,893 persons were discharged from the hospital upon their full recovery in the past 24 hours, taking the number of recovered ones to 49,954.

Similarly, 9,186 persons were currently undergoing treatment at home isolation while 8,228 patients were being treated at the institutional isolation. So far, 944,474 COVID-19 persons have undergone PCR test in Nepal.

Across the world, 31,816,650 persons have been infected with the COVID-19 which was first reported on December 31, 2019 in Wuhan, China. The number of the persons succumbing to the COVID-19 worldwide stands at 973,021, it was shared in the press conference today.
