2,942 New Cases of Coronavirus Infection Reported

18 Oct, Kathmandu : A total of 2,942 new cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in the country in the past 24 hours taking the coronavirus infection tally to 132,246 till Sunday.  There are a total of 39,341 active cases of the virus in the country, according to the Spokesperson of Ministry of Health and Population Dr Jageshwor Gautam.

In a daily press briefing this afternoon, he said that altogether 26,408 are in home isolation while 12,933 are receiving treatment in isolation facilities in various hospitals. Altogether 4,831 coronavirus infected ones are in quarantine facilities, he added. The Ministry of Health and Population mentioned that 12 new deaths from coronavirus infection were recorded in the past 24 hours. With this, the number of people losing their lives to the deadly infection in the country reached 739.

Likewise, 2,326 COVID-19 patients achieved recovery from the flu-like infection in the last 24 hours. In total, 92,166 infected persons have recovered from it as of now. Similarly, so far PCR tests have been conducted on 1,283,354 persons suspected to have contracted the coronavirus, it was shared.
