COVID Hospital Not in PM’s Hometown, More Than 30 Deaths

KP Oli, who has been the Prime Minister of the country twice and is currently the Prime Minister, is also the Chairman of the CPN. Sharma is a well-known CPN leader by the name of Oli. Not only the former leader of Jhapa district but also the current Damak constituency of Mai (river) west. There is not a single government hospital in the courtyard of the leader who has made Jhapa 5 Election Center his political workplace. But this is the plight of the people of Midhar West, including Damak, where there is not a single good government hospital.

The population density of Damak, Gauradaha, Gauriganj, Kamal and other towns and villages has been reduced and a well-equipped hospital has not been built here. The government has allocated more money to build a view tower named after Nepal’s Eiffel Tower than to build a hospital. Saying that Ram was born in Nepal, not only the tasteless tongue of Holiwine playing unseasonal instruments but also the land merchants and contract workers of Damak are making the world’s tallest Buddha statue in Damak.

However, it is not possible to build a fast hospital in Damak. Damak currently has the highest number of corona infections in Jhapa district. More than half of the deaths in the entire Jhapa district are in Damak, according to official government news outlets. However, it is sad to say that when you are sick, you do not get good treatment in Damak and you have to spend a few days in the expensive private sector hospital opened in Damak and go to the neighboring district. In Damak, the general public is also struggling to pay the high fees charged by the private sector hospitals. Instead of being forced to seek treatment at expensive hospitals, the patients of Damak and surrounding areas have been forced to seek treatment at government hospitals in Morang and Sunsari.

Despite the predominance of private hospitals in Damak, there have been widespread complaints that private hospitals do not treat corona-infected patients. If he is satisfied with the speech of the Prime Minister, he has brought prosperity in his speech to the satisfaction of all Nepalis. The country has been made Singapore and Switzerland, but in his speech, there is no daring example of country development and bringing happiness on the lips of the citizens. Even if we borrow his language, no Nepali will be unemployed now. If there is no money in pocket, there will be no Nepali. If there is no money in pocket, then the government will give very little money. Now there is a people’s government, now no Nepali has to die without treatment.

But this glow is the same place from where Prime Minister K.P. Shaman Oli had won where some people are now forced to die without medical treatment while others are forced to die in the middle of the street without any treatment. More than 20 people have died in Damak so far due to corona. Some locals from Damak, Kamal, Gauriganj, Gauradaha and other parts of Maidhar West are forced to go to Dharan and Biratnagar for treatment at high cost, while others are forced to die at home without getting a bed in a government hospital. There is no shortage of privately run hospitals in Damak.

There are hospitals in Damak including Lifeline Hospital, Om Mechi Hospital, Advanced Hospital, Damak Hospital, Nims National Hospital, Namaste Public Hospital, Max, Damak Hospital and Research Center. Locals say there is no treatment room. This confirms that the government’s attention is still not focused on the health of its citizens. Even the existing hospitals do not have facilities like quality ventilator, CT scan, MRI.

The locals of Damak have started complaining that the local government of Damak has not been able to provide any of the above-mentioned services and facilities in the expensive hospitals run by the private sector. Despite the increase in the death toll, the local government has issued a curfew from 4 pm to 8 am, but the crowds at Damak Bazaar have not decreased. Complaints of ordinary citizens are heard that the political parties in Damak have not been serious about this. So far, 20 people have lost their lives due to corona disease in Damak alone, five in Gauradaha, one in Gauriganj and four in Kamal village municipality.

Kamal VDC, which is much smaller than Damak in terms of population and area, has built a five-bed COVID Hospital and brought it into operation since last August. Even though the hospital is operating, ICU beds have not been provided in the hospital so far. When will the 30-bed Covid Hospital started by Damak Municipality come into operation? Who can get free treatment based on what criteria? No disappearance. Leaders of political parties affiliated to Damak have been saying that the state government, which is eager to pour crores of rupees in other areas, has not shown any activism to build a coveted hospital in Damak.

The central government, which could spend Rs 1.55 billion for the tower, the government that could invest Rs 15.75 billion to build the world’s tallest Buddha statue, the government that could spend Rs 284 million to build the auditorium, the government that could invest Rs 64 billion to build the industrial corridor (Total 333 billion plan) Why are you stingy in building a hospital to save the lives of the citizens?? Complaints of Damak and the people of Jhapa have been coming in this regard.

A closer look at the above facts reveals that the Prime Minister himself seems to be working only for the personal benefit of local political leaders and businessmen and contractors rather than for the livelihood of the people of Damak.
