1,380 new cases of coronavirus infection reported today

Kathmandu : The country recorded a total of 1,380 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours.  According to the Ministry of Health and Population, altogether 9,368 RT-PCR tests were conducted. Of the reported new cases, 546 were females.

Likewise, 19 people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours across the country. With this, 1,454 people lost their lives in the country from COVID-19. The Ministry stated that 195 new cases were reported in Province No. 1, thirty-seven in Province No. 2, seven hundred and forty-seven in Bagmati, 221 in Gandaki, 171 new cases in Lumbini and eight in Sudur Paschim Province. Likewise, a single case was spotted in the Karnali Province.

Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley reported 645 new cases including 285 women.  So far, the coronavirus infection tally reached 230 thousand 723 in the country till Saturday. As mentioned by the Ministry, a total of 211 thousand 186 infected people got recovered from the virus infection, which is 91.5 per cent of the total cases.

On Saturday, 515 people got recovered from the virus.  Of the 18 thousand 83 active cases, 12 thousand 546 people are in isolation while 325 are receiving treatment in ICU and 50 others in ventilators. Currently, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kaski and Rupandehi have more than 500 reported active cases while Manang and Dolpa districts have not reported active cases.
