Congress to stage nationwide protests
Kathmandu : Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to organise various programmes to protest the dissolution of House of Representatives (HoR). A meeting of the NC’s Central Working Committee held on Sunday decided to organise demonstrations and assemblies up to the grassroots level to protest the acts carried out against the democratic norms and values.
NC Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel said that the meeting decided to organise demonstrations and assemblies at 330 provincial assembly election constituencies on January 9, at all 753 local levels on January 16 and at 6,743 wards on January 19.
Party’s sister and well-wisher organisations could organise other protest programmes by coordinating with the central office and districts.
Similarly, the meeting also set February 12 as the deadline to submit active membership details with prescribed membership fee. The next CWC meeting has been scheduled at central office, Sanepa, on January 11.
