Prime Minister Oli should have resigned: Bamdev Gautam

Kathmandu : National Assembly member and CPN (Maoist) leader Bamdev Gautam has said that he is alone in trying to unite again. Speaking at a meeting of the National Assembly on Thursday, Gautam questioned why the party was united in three years.

Stating that he was not in any group even though the party was in two camps, Gautam said that he did not see any justification for the split of the party. He said that he saw mistakes and weaknesses on both sides.

Stating that unity was needed in the party, he said that the main leaders of both the parties were trying to bring a socialist system but were ashamed.

Gautam also said that the Prime Minister had lost his last chance to preserve party unity by not resigning after learning that a no-confidence motion was coming. He argues that party unity would be saved if the prime minister resigned after learning that a no-confidence motion was being tabled by the party.

Speaking at the seventh session of the National Assembly, Gautam also complained that he was not given any information when Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli dissolved the House of Representatives.
