Samples of infected people returning to Nepal will be sent to Hong Kong

Kathmandu : A sample of infected people returning to Nepal from the UK will be sent to Hong Kong. Preparations have been made to send samples to the World Health Organization (WHO) laboratory in Hong Kong to sequence the corona virus infection of five citizens who have returned to Nepal.

According to Runa Jha, director of the National Public Health Laboratory in Teku, the samples will be sent to Hong Kong by Monday. It was suspected that a new wave of corona virus had entered Nepal after the infection was confirmed in five citizens who returned from the UK on April 30. However, there was confusion as the nature of the virus could not be known without gene sequencing.
