HoR dissolution attack against democracy: Nepal, Dahal

Rupandehi : Leaders of the agitating Nepal Communist Party (NCP) led by Madhav Kumar Nepal and Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ have said that the Parliament was dissolved as the government failed to work as per the public expectations and need.

Addressing a mass gathering here today, leaders argued that there was no alternate to restore the House of Representatives. Most of the speakers claimed that there was no possibility of mid-term elections in the stipulated time.
Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal said that Election Commission’s decision had proved that their party was the authentic NCP. He said the majority of 441 CC members decide the authenticity of the party.

Similarly, another chair Prachanda argued that the dissolution of the parliament was an attack against the democracy adding that the Prime Minister dissolved the parliament instead of working for people despite having clear public mandate.

Chair Dahal appealed all to be united to safeguard the changes achieved through people’s struggle. Similarly, standing committee member Ghanashyam Bhusal argued that the government was moving towards the wrong direction. He said that the problem surfaced in the party as the Prime Minister failed to follow party’s mandate.

Leader Barshaman Pun argued that the government failed to address the problems of Ex Maoist combatants for long. Standing committee leaders Yubraj Gyawali, Chakrapani Khanal among others had addressed the programme.
