Party purification underway: NCP Chair

Kathmandu : Chairperson of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the NCP has become more united of late. Speaking at the national workers gathering of General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT) here today, he said a purification campaign has been initiated in the party, with anomalies, anarchy and selfish tendency being wiped out.

“The NCP is now united with one ideology, one objective and one notion, and working to realize the goal of prosperous Nepal Happy Nepalis,” he said. The movement now should be patriotic and democratic, with a focus to consolidate communist parties for building an equitable society with social justice.

He also accused some section of the media of misleading people by covering up the good deeds of the government. Lauding the role of the workers movement in the change in Nepal, he appealed to all the workers to become united.On the occasion, Prime Minister Oli shared that 30,000 government employees working on a contract and daily wage basis were incorporated into the social security scheme.

On the occasion, Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Gauri Shanker Chaudhary said the government has taken various steps in favour of the workers. Chief Advisor of the Prime Minister and former Chair of GEFONT Bishnu Prasad Rimal said the senior leaders of the party were more critical than the opposition of their own government.
GEFONT Chair Binod Shrestha emphasized on the need to work actively in the coming elections to form a labour-friendly government again in the country.
