Letter of separation of UML and UCPN (M) to Parliament Secretariat

Kathmandu. A letter from the Election Commission has reached the Parliament Secretariat stating that the CPN-UML and the UCPN (Maoist) are separate parties. However, UML and UCPN (Maoist) MPs will be sitting in the ruling party’s seats in the parliament.

Spokesperson of the Parliament Secretariat Rojnath Pandey said that the MPs of both the parties would be in the wave of the ruling party as the Maoist center had not withdrawn its support to the government.

As per the decision of the Supreme Court, the Election Commission had decided to separate the CPN-UML and the Maoist Center. Earlier on Sunday, the Supreme Court had annulled the party unification of the UML and the Maoist Center. With the Supreme Court’s decision, these two parties have returned to normal.
