Bahrain’s Prince Shaikh receives permission for climbing Mt Everest

Kathmandu : The Department of Tourism (DoT) under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has granted permission to an expedition team comprising Prince of the Kingdom of Bahrain to scale the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest.

This is so far the first permission granted to the team in this spring season for climbing the summit. A 16-member team comprising three UK nationals have received permission for climbing atop the highest peak.

Bahrain’s Prince Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s brother Sheikh Mohammad, Hamad Mohammad and Al Khalifa have arrived Nepal last week.

The expedition team is scheduled to stay in Nepal for 79 days. They are all set to scale the peak via Seven Summit Trek.
The Department has expected that the efforts of Bahrain Prince to scale the peak would impart a positive message to the world to promote Nepal’s tourism which was the worse-hit sector by the COVID-19 pandemic.
