Water-level in Mahakali river increases; locals urged to stay alert

Darchula: Water-level has increased in Mahakali river due to incessant rainfall.The District Administration Office, Darchula, has urged all to remain alert as citing the risk level has increased with the increased water-level in the river.

The water flow in Mahakali river has reached 5.80 meters this morning. The water of Mahakali river has crossed the under construction embankment at Bangabagad area in Khalanga.

Now, the river has taken its pervious form. Chief District Officer Siddharaj Joshi said that there is a risk at Mahakali river surrounding area due to rise of water flow.

The administration has urged the Darchula folks to adopt precautions and stay alert as there was a possibility of flood in river embankment area and other rivers of the district.

Almost all places of the country have been experiencing incessant rainfall for the past few days.
The administration has requested one and all to remain alert as there is a risk of flood and landslide.

Meanwhile, rural roads of the district including Khar-Khalanga road, Khalanga-Tinkar road, and Bitule-Paribagad road were obstructed following incessant rainfall.

Movement of vehicles along Khalanga-Khar area has been affected due to road obstruction.
Locals have been facing problem to take their production to market following road obstruction.
