Pripyat, Ukraine : A photograph shows a crucifix in the ghost town of Pripyat near the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant on May 29, 2022, amid the Russian invasion of Ukraine. More than a 100 employees who had shown up just hours before for their night shift were now trapped as Russian forces crossed into Ukraine and seized swaths of land as they marched toward Kyiv.
