Baridya agitation: All-side meeting to form probe panel
Bardiya : An agreement has been made to form an all-side committee to probe into the killing of an individual in a clash between local residents and police personnel on Monday.
The local residents at Madhuban-2 in Bardiya district had taken to the streets expressing their rues to the stakeholders’ apathy to control the tiger menace there.
Nabina Tharu, 19, of Madhuban-2 died in the police firing following the clash between security personnel and locals.The local residents have been further enraged after the death of Nabina.
On Tuesday, the Orali area in the district remained tensed while the Gulariya-Rajapur road section is totally disrupted as the locals are chanting slogans protesting the death of Tharu.
Chief District Officer of Bardiya Bandhu Bastola has said efforts are ongoing to resume the vehicular movement along the route after a negotiation with the locals.
Efforts are ongoing to hand over the body of Tharu to the family after forging a consensus in a meeting between the people’s representative and victims.
Superintendent of Police Birendra Bahadur Shahi said a decision has been made to take actions against the culprits by forming a probe panel after the all-side meeting.
