Government Focused on Economic Growth, says PM oli
Kathmandu: Industry and business organizations from the private sector, including the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), have expressed that the recently issued ordinances will improve the investment and business environment in the country, extending their gratitude to the government for these initiatives.
During a meeting with Prime Minister Oli at his official residence in Baluwatar today, FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal, Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) President Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, Nepal Chamber of Commerce President Kamalesh Agrawal, and Federation of Nepalese Industry and Entrepreneurs (FENIE) President Bhagirath Sapkota welcomed discussions on investment and business matters.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, and other ministers were also in attendance. The representatives from the private sector urged the government to implement suitable regulations and operational procedures promptly, as these ordinances are anticipated to play a crucial role in revitalizing the economy, which has faced challenges in the aftermath of COVID-19.
They noted that the provisions within the ordinances would invigorate the private sector and emphasized that creating an investment-friendly atmosphere in this manner would support the national goal of 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali.'
On January 13, the President issued four different ordinances at the government's recommendation, with an ordinance concerning land management expected to follow soon.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Oli expressed his satisfaction with the business community's positive reception of the government's goodwill and clarified that the ruling coalition is actively working to develop policies for the country's advancement, despite rumors regarding the government's stability. The Prime Minister stated that only those who oppose the government would disagree with this progress.
