Oli consults President Bhandari before key party meeting

30 June Kathmandu : Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has consulted President Bidya Devi Bhandari before the party’s ongoing standing committee meeting resumed in Kathmandu on Tuesday morning.

Oli had gone to the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas, before the meeting began at 11 am at his official residence in Baluwatar. Details of the discussion between the two officials have not been revealed, but it has been assumed that the two talked about contemporary political issues including the internal dispute in their Nepal Communist Party.

Meanwhile, the standing committee is discussing the government’s performance among other issues today. It is expected that many leaders will criticise Oli accusing him of poor handling of the Covid-19 crisis among other issues. On the other hand, Oli has recently accused India of trying to topple his government, which has also been drawn into controversy.
