Players winning medals in SAG awarded

Khotang : Medal winners of the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) were awarded in khotang. Seven medal winners were honoured with cash on the occasion of the 3rd national general convention of Kirant Rai Sports Association that began in Diktel since Tuesday.

Association chairperson Mahendra Kumar Rai informed that players clinching gold, silver and bronze medals in SAG championship along with coach and managers were honoured with cash prize of Rs 10,000 each.

The Association honoured Sushila Rai (Sunsari) who won gold medal in Taekwondo in 13th SAG. Among others honoured are Ashok Khaling Rai (Ilam) winning bronze medal in Wushu, Bhawana Sunuwar (Ramechhap) winning bronze in Squash, Archery team manager Meena Kumari Rai (Udayapur), Boxing team manager Prameela Rai (Jhapa) and Samjhan Rai (Bara) winning silver medal in Kabaddi.

Likewise, Kabaddi medal winner Rai was also honoured with cash prize of Rs 10,000 on behalf of Sagarmatha Taekwondo Dojang, UK founder chief Rastra Rai and Kirant Rai Yayokkha, UK chairperson Yogesh Koyu.

Similarly, Muye Thai World Champion Sanjaya Rai was also feted with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a letter of appreciation. Province 1 Minister for Social Development Rajan Rai honoured the winning players on the occasion.
