Rs 2.34 b collected in COVID-19 treatment and control fund

22 June Kathmandu : The government has shared that a total of Rs 2.34 billion has been collected in COVID-19 treatment and control fund till today.

Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Narayan Prasad Bidari shared this in a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee under the House of Representatives. Bidari further shared that over Rs 280 million has been released from the fund so far. He also shared that the details of the updated expenditure made by federal budget, state and local levels budget would be made public soon.

Similarly, secretary at the Ministry of Health and Population Laxman Aryal shared that Rs 5,500 has been fixed as the fee for PCR test. He added that the Ministry was working to meet the WHO standard in course of treatment and quarantine policy. He said 7,500 swab samples were being tested for Corona Virus in a single day from 23 laboratories across the country.

The committee members Rajendra Kumar KC, Surya Pathak, Minendra Rijal, Chanda Chaudhary and Md Istiyak Rai had taken part in the meeting.
