St. Xavier’s College organizing its 27th set exhibition

Kathmandu : The Social Service, Environment and Technology ( SET ) Council, one of the oldest and largest clubs in St. Xavier’s College, Maitighar is organising its 27th SET exhibition in the college premises on 12th of February, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. following a long standing tradition and history of providing platform to students from various schools and colleges of Kathmandu valley as well as from the college itself to present their ideas of innovation broadening their horizon of knowledge.

The event will be graced by the presence of Mr. Kanak Mani Dixit as the chief guest. He is a Nepali publisher, editor and writer. He is the founder of the magazine Himal Southasian, cofounder of Himal Media and also the chief executive of Sajha Yatayat.

The event specifically aims to foster the creativity of young minds and provide a platform for their ideas to be tested and evaluated by experts. A point to be noted is that their ideas and projects will not only be competing with each other but also can stand as a solid foundation for the betterment of society and a good initiation for their further competitive academics and career.

The projects will be based on three different categories: Social service,Environment and Technology and the students will be competing against one another in the intra and inter level. In the intra level, there will be separate winners for each of the three aforementioned categories whereas in the inter level, there will be a single winner.

The winning teams will receive medals, certificates, cash prizes and attractive gift hampers. Additionally, there will also be various business stalls where students can visit and learn about diverse things. The visitors will also be able to enjoy various scintillating dance and music performances. There will be the presence of various food stalls as well as game stalls for the visitors to enjoy.

The exhibition is one of the most anticipated events of the colllege and is expected to be a spontaneous success. The youths in the country can be given an impetus if such exhibitions are organised from time to time. There is no deficit of skills in the country and if properly used can add greatly to its the wealth. All that is required is a platform and by conducting the exhibition, The SET Council wants to contribute to this.
