Tokha municipality to provide Rs 50 per kg of locusts as incentive

2 July Kathmandu :  Tokha municipality is to provide incentive allowance of Rs 50 per kg locusts to those catching locusts at their wards.

The municipality has forwarded this plan to control locusts as it has been seen as a challenge for agro sector of the country.  Mayor Prakash Adhikari said that they have announced to provide the amount as an incentive to control the locusts as they started destroying crops grown in large area.

The municipality has urged farmers to use pesticides from 6:00 am to 8:00 am and 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm after identifying the locusts’ habitat to control it.
