UML to hold meeting of general convention organizing committee on June 30

Kathmandu: The CPN UML has decided to hold the meeting of general convention organizing committee on June 30.

The standing committee meeting of the party held at Prime Minister’s residence today also decided to hold a meeting the same day to discuss the latest political development, the case sub judice at Supreme Court on dissolution of parliament, and dispute surfaced on organizing committee of the 10th general convention of the party, according to party spokesperson Pradip Gyawali.

The UML had formed the general convention organizing committee on March 12. Efforts are on to continue dialogue and forge unity with the faction led by leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, which had disagreed with the decision on convention organizing committee.

The talks with the Nepal-led faction have been stalled after some lawmakers close to him signed for the proposal to make prime minister to the Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

The meeting today suggested the government that it made further effective the relief, rescue and control initiatives in the flood and landslide, and Covid-hit areas.
