NCP Chairmen discuss party feud

5 July Kathmandu : Prime Minister and Chairman of the ruling NCP KP Sharma Oli and another Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ held a discussion today to sort out deepening dispute in the party, but no decision has been shared.

The discussion held at PM’s residence Baluwatar was also attended by party general secretary Bishnu Poudel, standing committee members Shankar Pokhrel, Janardan Sharma and Barsha Man Pun. The leaders attending the meeting have not given any response on the development.

The top leaders met today after the meeting held two days back failed to reach conclusion despite being positive. Today itself, NCP Chairman Dahal and senior leaders Jhalanth Khanal and Madhav Kumar Nepal also held meeting with President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
The ongoing standing committee meeting of the party has been put off till tomorrow for giving time to the top brass to sort out differences.

The standing committee meeting begun 10 days back has been disrupted after it witnessed new issue beyond regular agenda like distancing among the top leaders in the wake of PM’s remark. Prorogation of the ongoing budget session has also been a matter of dispute in the party.

PM Oli has however made it clear that there was no plan of ordinance on political parties at a time of having no parliament session at present. Some section of the party however suspected such development following the prorogation of the House session. On the other hand, Chairman Prachanda urged the President not to issue ordinance.
