30, March, Hetauda : Tests for coronavirus will be available in Hetauda, the capital of Bagmati State, from today. Bagmati State Government’s Minister for Social Development, Yubaraj Dulal, said the laboratory at the Vector-Borne Diseases Research and Training Centre (VBDRTC) at Hetauda would be upgraded and used for testing for COVID-19.
He said the swab specimen from the suspected coronavirus patients would be collected and tested at the laboratory itself. Minister Dulal said if anyone was found infected with coronavirus arrangements would be made for treating that person in Hetauda itself. He added that the laboratory has been operated for the convenience of the people from various districts of State-2 as well.
The Minister said that the State Government has also set up 300 isolation wards including ICU facilities for keeping the coronavirus infected people. According to him, isolation wards have been set up in 12 districts in Bagmati State. State-level rapid response team and high-level monitoring committee have been formed, and various activities as publicity and sensitisation programmes were also being carried out all across the State.
