Lockdown to be continued
5 May Kathmandu : The meeting of the High-Level Coordination Committee for the Prevention and Control of Corona Virus held here Tuesday has decided to give continuity to the lockdown imposed by the government.
The meeting held at Prime Minister’s official residence at Baluwatar decided to this effect. However, the length of the extension for the lockdown will be determined by the cabinet. Secretary at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Narayan Prasad Bidari, emerging from the meeting, shared that the Committee assessed that moves of the government to be effective when it came to saving the lives of the public by ordering nationwide lockdown.
The participants in the meeting had endorsed extension of the stay-at-home order that has been enforced by the government since May 24 to contain the spread of deadly COVID-19 infection. Bidari further shared, “We discussed about all the policies and efforts taken and executed by the government to prevent and control COVID-19 and to treat the infected ones. We determined that the lives of people have been safeguarded by enforcing the lockdown which has helped curb the infection.”
The meeting also dwelt about how to reduce the cases of COVID-19 to nil, according to Bidari.
