NC President Deuba Asks Govt. to Rescue Stranded Nepalis
6 May, Kathmandu : Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Wednesday drew the attention of the government to rescue those who have been stranded due to global COVID-19 pandemic.
In a telephone conversation with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Wednesday, leader Deuba demanded that the government takes measures to control situation of Nepalgunj where 17 coronavirus infection cases were detected in two days recently and ensure security to the local people. He also asked the government to expand tests for the infection through polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method across the country.
NC has urged the government to rescue the Nepalis who have been stranded across the globe due to the infection pandemic including around 3,000 taking government shelter in Kuwait, said NC chief secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel.
Leader Deuba also urged PM Oli to rescue the Nepalis who have been quarantined for over a month at Nepal’s borders with India and stranded in many cities in India.
