CM Gurung urges all to join hands for cause of humanity
8 May Kaski : Gandaki state chief minister Prithvi Subba Gurung has called one and all to join hands for humanitarian woks to achieve a full success against the fight against global pandemic of coronavirus emerged as a challenge to the existence of humans. In his message of best wishes on the occasion of the World Red Cross Day today, the chief minister wished all including Red Cross campaigners for their good health, peace, happiness, prosperity and progress.
Stating that serving humanity through humanitarian assistances was the basic principles of Red Cross, the chief minister paid a high respect to noted social activist and Red Cross founder Jean Henri Dunant and campaigners of the Red Cross devoted to the pure human services. As he said, in course of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, he deeply realised the significance of humanity and humanitarian works and interanalised it. The chief minister pledged to involve himself in the liberation and service of human beings continuously.
He recognised the contribution of health/medical workers, security people and volunteers who were at the forefront against the pandemic and were working to save others risking their own lives. The Swiss national Henry Dunant, the founder of Red Cross Society was born on May 8, 1863 and the World Red Cross Day is observed each year in commemoration of his birth anniversary.
