Covid-19: Number of Infected Persons Reaches 507; 70 Defeat the Virus So Far

22 May, Kathmandu : Though the number of people getting infected with coronavirus is increasing, number of people defeating the virus is also on rise.

On Friday, 21 more people from Banke district were discharged from Sushil Koirala Cancer Hospital after the recovery from the coronavirus infection. Of them, nine are women. With this, the number of people discharged from the hospital reached 70, the Ministry of Health and Population’s spokesperson Dr Bikas Devkota said at a regular press meet today.

Likewise, a total of 19 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded lately, hitting the tally at 507 in the country. It is said that three new affected individuals are from Janaki Rural Municipality of Kailali district while one each from Dadeldhura and Baitadi district of the Sudurpaschim State.

Similarly, 14 new cases were confirmed in the district of Banke. They are of 18 to 61 year and their health condition is normal, the Ministry said. According to the Ministry, the coronavirus infection has so far spread to 40 districts from across the country. Dr Devkota shared that 42,488 people have undergone PCR tests and 82,116 under RDT methods so far. RSS
