RPP for constitution amendment proposal

27 May Kathmandu : The Rastriya Prajantra Party (RPP) has decided to lend its support to the government’s proposal for amendment of the condition.

The meeting of the RPP attended by its Chairpersons Kamal Thapa, Pashupati Shumsher JBR and Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani took the decision to this effect today, according to a press statement issued by RPP central secretariat chief Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan and Bhaskar Bhadra.

The bill related to constitution amendment to change the coat of arms of Nepal has been presented in the federal parliament following the issuance of new political and administrative map of the country.

The newly issued map includes Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura as Nepal’s territories. The new map must be upgraded in the coat of arms and the Schedule of the Constitution for which the national charter must be revised.

RPP had drawn the attention of the government to revise the map of Nepal after the government of India had issued its new political map including Nepali territories in Darchula district such as Lipulek, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani as its territories.

The party had also protested India’s unilateral act of India by building a link road leading up to Mansarovar, encroaching upon Nepal’s territories.
