10 Proposals Presented Seeking Reduction in Expenditure on Several Ministries
7 June, Kathmandu : Altogether 10 proposals seeking reduction in expenditure under several ministries have been presented in the ongoing deliberations on different topics of the Appropriation Bill-2077 at today’s meeting of the House of Representatives.
The proposal was presented by Durga Poudel, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Prem Suwal, Gagan Kumar Thapa, Atahar Kamal Musalman and Dilendra Prasad Badu among other parliamentarians. The proposals were for cutting the expenditure of the Offices of President, Vice-President, Prime Ministers and Council of Ministers, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration among others. The deliberation on this continues in the ongoing meeting.
Stating that concrete programmes were not launched and desired result could not be yielded as per the allocated budget over several heading of the ministries, they had presented the proposal seeking minimization of the expenditures of the government agencies. On the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Ishwor Pokharel had presented the National Security Council annual report 2075/76 BS.
