Expert group to garner border related evidences

11 June, Kathmandu : The government has formed an expert group to collect evidences related to Nepal-India border. The nine-member group is led by Chair of Policy Research Academy Bishnu Raj Upreti.

Other members include legal expert Surya Prasad Subedi, historian Ramesh Dhungel, constitutional expert Bipin Adhikari, Hydrology expert Jagat Bhushal, Toyanath Baral, Himalaya Thapa and Apsara Chapagain. Joint-secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ram Prasad Subedi is the member-secretary of the group.

In the wake of the border dispute with India, the group has been tasked with collection of evidence and documents through various institutions and individuals at home and abroad about the border area in Limpiyadhura, Kuti, Nabhi, Gunji, Kalapani, Lipulek in North-west and Susta in the south, said government spokesperson Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada while sharing the cabinet decisions at a press meet in the capital today.

Likewise, the cabinet has decided to form a talks team to accept concessional loan worth Rs. 24 billion from the World Bank and move ahead with process to receive it.
The single women below 60 years who were availing social security allowance would be provided Rs 2,000 monthly from April to the end of this fiscal year. The decision was made after the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Similarly, Minister Khatiwada shared that the physically disabled, helpless persons and those having identity card of disability would receive Rs 1,600 monthly from April of the current fiscal year to till the end.

Furthermore, decisions were made to present the Bills related to arranging quarantine facilities for foreign returnees, maintaining archives of Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and Customs Bill of the Ministry of Finances to the federal parliament for deliberations.

The meeting also decided to present the number of bills to the federal parliaments for discussion including regulation for sanitary of food and quality control.
