Country to see partly to generally cloudy weather today
18 June Kathmandu : The weather will be partly to generally cloudy throughout the country with chances of heavy rain on Thursday due to the influence of monsoon wind, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.
Meteorologist Bibhuti Pokharel said there is possibility of heavy rain in one or two places of State-1, State-2, Bagmati State, Gandaki State and State-5 with the monsoon wind that entered via the eastern region becoming active now.
Rainfall up to 50 millimetres is called light to moderate rain while precipitation above 50 millimetres is called heavy rain. The Division said the monsoon activity is likely to build up in some days from now as the monsoon is already active.
The weather is fully cloudy in State-1, State 5, Karnali and Sudurpaschim (Far-west) State while it is generally cloudy in State-2, Bagmati State and Gandaki State at present. Rainfall is taking place at some places in State 1. There is possibility of light to moderate rainfall along with thunder and lightning at many places of State-1, State 2, Bagmati State, Gandaki State and State 5, and at some places of Karnali and Gandaki states towards the afternoon today.
As per the latest weather information provided by the Division, the minimum temperature in was 20.5 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature 29.5 degrees Celsius. The lowest minimum temperature of 15.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jumla while the highest maximum temperature of 34 .6 degrees Celsius was recorded in Dhangadhi.
