Indefinite prohibitory order issued in Birgunj to curb COVID-19 spread

The local administration here has issued an indefinite prohibitory order effective in Birgunj Metropolitan City area from early morning on Friday after the spread of COVID-19 in community level.

A total of 32 persons, including five detainees, were tested positive for COVID-19 at Birgunj-based Narayani Hospital. The all-side meeting called by the District Administration Office, Parsa decided to implement prohibitory order in all 32 wards of the metropolis.

Essential services and supplies will resume despite the prohibitory order, assistant CDO Lalit Basnet told the National News Agency (RSS). Meanwhile 32 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Parsa district today.

The fresh case of the deadly infection was reported in seven women and 25 men, informed Narayani Hospital’s medical superintendent Dr Madan Upadhyay.  The infected persons range from nine-month infant to 60-year-old person.

The inmates contracting the flu-like infection were held at ward police office in Shreepur of Birgunj, shared Inspector of the District Health Office, Parsa, Jayamod Thakur.
