130 new individuals test positive for coronavirus

Coronavirus has been confirmed to 130 new individuals in last 24 hours. With this, the number of coronavirus infected people has reached 18,613, according to the Ministry of health and Population.

The number of active infected cases is 5,440 so far. Spokesperson at the Ministry, Dr Jageshwor Gautam, said that coronavirus was confirmed on one person each of Jhapa and Morang and eight of Ilam in course of carrying out test at Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar.

Similarly, two COVID-19 cases were recorded in Sunsari, one each in Udayapur ad Tehrathum and 23 in Morang in course of carrying out test at Provincial Public health Lab, Biratnagar while a person of Dhanusha district and two persons of Mahottari districts tested positive coronavirus infection in course of carrying out test at Provincial Public Health Lab, Janakpur.

Likewise, coronavirus was confirmed on a person in a test carried out at Narayani Hospital, Birgunj, according to the Ministry. One person each of Dang and Nuwakot districts, two each of Kathmandu and Solukhumbu tested positive for COVID-19 in a test carried out at National Public Health Lab, Kathmandu.

Three persons each of Kathmandu and Parsa also tested positive for coronavirus infection in course of carrying out test at Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital and coronavirus was confirmed on two of Nawalparasi (East) and one each of Rautahat and Makawanpur and Rautahat districts in a test carried out at Vector Borne Disease Research and Training Centre, Hetauda.

A person of Bara also tested positive for coronavirus in course of carrying out test atTribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj as well as coronavirus was conformed on a person of Kaski and three of Kathmandu in a test carried out at Star Hospital, Sanepa.

Two persons each of Gorkha and Kaski also tested positive for COVID-19 in a test carried out at Pokhara Institute of Health Science and one each of Rupandehi and Arghakhachi in the test carried out at Provincial Public health Lab, Rupandehi, shared Dr Gautam.

Similarly, coronavirus was conformed on two persons of Banke, six of Bardiya and one of Jumla in the test carried out at Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj as well as three persons of Ropla in course of test carrying out Lumbini Provincial Hospital.

A person of Dailekh and three persons of Surkhet tested positive for COVID-19 in the test carried out at Surkhet Provincial Hospital and 24 persons of Dailekh in course of carrying out test at Dailekh Lab.

According to the Ministry, coronavirus was confirmed on 14 people of Achham, three of Bajura and one of Kanchanpur in the test carried out at Seti Provincial Hospital.

Spokesperson, Dr Gautam added there are 186 active coronavirus cases in state-1, 1,873 in state-2, 444 in Bagmati state, 294 in Gandaki state, 358 in state-5, 366 in Karnali state and 1,918 in Sudurpaschim state.
