BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital sealed off

Chitwan : All services except emergency in the Bharatpur-based BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital have been sealed off after the coronavirus infection was confirmed in some of its employees.

According to Executive Director at the Hospital Dr Dej Kumar Gautam, the services were halted as some officials in the hospital were found infected with coronavirus.

The decision was taken to sanitize the hospital and carry out contact tracing of those who were in close contacts with the infected individuals, Dr Gautam said.

Seven nurses and three other officials were found infected in the hospital. Dr Gautam added that the services would be resumed soon after adopting safety measures.
