One APF personnel and eight Indian traders injured in a scuffle
Jaleswor : An Armed Police Force (APF) personnel and eight Indian traders were wounded in a scuffle occurred last night along the Nepal-India border in Matihani municipality-8 of Mahottari.
Situation turned tense when Indians demolished and removed a makeshift post and help desk set up for coronavirus test along number 2 border in Matihani.
According to Border Outpost Matihani’s Police Inspector Balaram Gautam, a group of 50-60 Indians under alcoholic influence had pelted stones at security personnel deputed in border number 2 at around 8.00 pm last night. On-duty police personnel Bibek Dhakal had his head severely injured in the attack launched by Indians for half an hour. His unfirm was also torn apart by the Indian hooligans.
However, according to an Indian business person, Inspector Gautam had mobilized APF to charge with baton the traders importing potato, onion and rice from India at 8.00 pm last night.
As many as eight Indian traders were injured in the baton charge. Local witness also said that the APF had used unnecessary force against the business persons.
